Big City Diner in Kailua

Really Great service the waitress/waiter was really cool... Don't know what his name was... he really polite and courteous...I wish I could remember his name... he wore glasses young guy. It was about 9:15 pm 4/27.

I stopped in Big City Diner they have $6 Modelo beer and watch a little UH football it was great to be out of the heat for a few minutes it's been hot in Kailua🌴

BCD never disappoints. food is excellent and reasonable.

Very reasonable prices! Beer is cold, food comes hot and fast. Not the spot people will rave about online but it serves it's purpose as a good place to eat with the family or just grab a drink with friends. Only complaint is I wish the bartender we had carried just a little more of personality.

This place is amazing. The Pu-Pu platter has a great assortment of food. The calamari is unlike anything I have had. The burgers I have ordered here in the past are delicious and make sure your fries are cajun seasoned. The garlic seasoned fries are good but cajun wins. Last but not least the bread pudding dessert is out of the world amazing. I can only think of a time or 2 I have had better bread pudding but that's because I made it all from scratch to include the bread. A nice inside outside setting gives some options for good weather and the staff is always friendly. Enjoy.

It was good, the breakfast pancake sandwich is super! If you're interested in drinks consider their happy hour!

Still as great as when I first ate here. Ate lunch here at the Kailua location around 1130 am and since it wasn't their busy got our orders quick. Typically I don't give 5 Stars because there is always room for improvement or usually after multiple visits where I see consistency. However I'm giving the extra 5 star for location and easy of parking. Being a partial caregiver for my mom, taking my mom to shop at foodland and then a bite are a real plus. The ease of parking was the icing on the cake.

Love their kalbi Kim Chee fried rice dish!!! Sooooo yummy!!! Staff is always friendly and quick service, Cody and Caleb always on top of it from behind the bar, too!!

Get anything with the guava BBQ sauce, you won't regret it! So good they bottled it, now we can take some home to the mainland!

We, wife, son and I really enjoyed an outdoor lunch setting with sports t.v. and drinks to enjoy on Christmas eve, and the food is excellent, I encourage to go and enjoy.

Went with a group of 6, the waiter was great, very polite and attentive. I really enjoyed the food, which I ordered a spam/mushroom omelet, everybody in our group ordered something different, so that way we could all get a taste of everything. Everything was great. I am very happy with both the service and the food.

It's fine if everywhere else is busy. Typical diner stuff, little drab, some bright servers and some not. Kinda wish the employees didn't look so sad all the time though. I think the server Terry is the only one that seems to consistently do a great job whenever me and my friends come in. Typically we go here if Crepes No Ka Oi has too long of a line on Sundays and I gotta say I'm pretty sure I should just request her or walk off to find a third option

Friday night live music on the Lanai, WAS WAY TOO LOUD, a table on the sidewalk across Hamaka street, and would have provided less hearing damage.

There kids sand which is really good!

Ordered fried rice and there were hard crusty pieces of rice ....not an enjoyable eating experience !!The taste was fine but the crusty rice made it a definite thumbs down !!

I've been to this place 3 times. Today was the worst. Our tables looked clean, but were extremely sticky. We had to wash hands after touching the table. Food wasnt the freshest today. 2 people in our party got bad stomach cramps after eating chili. Our drinks were mixed up, i ordered iced tea, but i was given something fizzy. Waiter came apoligizing: " oh. My bad, i have no idea why i brought you a diet coke. You did order an iced tea" Not my place of choice since everytime o go there, something is always wrong with my order.

Service is good and so is the food. Comfort for with slight variations in flavor so you don't get bored. There's a lot of seats and parking is usually abundant. The prices are good and if you go to Costco you can get the 20% discount cards for Big City everytime you eat. That's the best deal around.

Visiting Kailua for vacation and happened to eat dinner there on a Thursday when it’s “kids eat free” night. Kids meals of macaroni and cheese and grilled cheese were tasty and arrived quickly before our meals (as requested). Guava margarita was a yummy local-flavored drink. The wings appetizer and the shrimp portion of the surf ‘n turf entree were delicious as was the old fashioned chocolate shake. The steak was okay and the crispy fish sandwich was good; fries were great. Service was a bit slow, but friendliness made up for the wait. The kitchen manager even waved to my kiddos through the window as we left. Recommend this place especially for a family!

First time after covid lock down dinner and outdoor seating was great. The staff are so friendly. My full rack was so delicious fall off the bones, got 2 meals out of it. Fish and chips are good also. Must trying the ribs once you are in town. Mahalo.

Kailua's local go-to for either quick lunch with the kids, brunch after church, between hours chat w coffee or cocktails catching up w old friends or making new ones w our tourist; for Big City Diner is "aloha" daily. Catch the game at the bar or live music with a date on the lanai ... the service is impeccable (30 yrs in this biz I'm tough to please) the food consistant thru years (no easy feat) & restaurant & restrooms always CLEAN! Keiki friendly Kupuna friendly, prices very reasonable. I'll keep coming back ... Mahalo my community friends!

Today we visited for breakfast. Service was okay and the food was good. Only downfall was there was lots of flies in the restaurant.

Got myself pupu steak and soybeans at happy hour which is half off...steak was DELICIOUS and the manager talked story with us and a nice guy 😁

Thanks to covid it has been almost exactly three months since I sat in this dining room. Scared that the food would not be as good, but they really delivered a treat today. It is definitely a different experience, but the food was as good as I remembered. Had the Portabella Benedict, took that first bite and had to close my eyes. They're back!

Can't miss having any meal at big City diner especially in Kailua. I had the chili which was just right and we also had the fish and chips which was also very good with halibut how's the fish. Service is always excellent here where the waiters and waitresses are on top of things and keep you well taken care of.

First time at the kailua big city dinner but the service and the employees were very helpful and friendly. And the food was great as well.

We decided to eat here for a quick lunch since we were already in the area. The place is not that big, but we didn't have to wait. The menu is typical for a burger joint, though they did have a separate breakfast menu that was only available on the weekends. The service was friendly and everyone enjoyed their food. If you have a craving for burgers, you can't go wrong with this place.

Took a long time after ordering for food to arrive. It also was not busy. Food was delicious, though---spam ramen with a club sandwich.
